Back to topYour Story: And They Called it Puppy Love
Billy and I used to date in high school but the timing just wasn't right and we ended up breaking up. Some 50 years later, Billy was out shopping when he ran into a young man who mentioned that his grandmother lived on Lenox Lane.Billy said, 'I use to date a girl that lived on Lenox Lane. What's her name?'
'Aleen', replied the boy. It turns out that it was my grandson that Billy had run into. He asked my grandson for my current phone number and gave me a call. The night Billy and I made plans to meet again.
Later that week, I was going through some of my things and came across Billy's high school graduation picture that he had given me years ago. I flipped it over and the back read, 'Aleen, you know how I feel. We didn't work out this time, but I promise if we have the chance again I won't let you go. May God be with you until I can. Love, Billy.'
After 50 years of being apart, we got married a year and a half ago!
