HOW TO BE ROMANTIC (With Little or No Cost to You!)

A romantic moment doesn’t always need to be filled with long-stemmed roses and strolling violinists (although it’s nice!). Romantic moments can be easily found in your everyday routine. Take a look at some suggestions from our Romance Concierge, Tracy Getz:

  • #1
Embrace the Sponge Bob: Pop in a movie to provide your kids with some distraction. Even if you don’t feel comfortable sneaking away to the bedroom and leaving your child unattended, curl up on the couch with your partner and just hold hands.
  • #2
Kid Swap: Team up with the parents of your kid’s friends. Chances are they could use some quality couple time too! Designate a night once a month (or more often if possible) to drop your kids off at their house for a sleepover. The next time, trade and host their kids for the night. This way the kids have fun and mom and dad get to enjoy some pillow fighting of their own.
  • #3
Follow the Leader: Take cues from your kids – as they grow up, they want to hang out more with their friends, not their parents. As soon as they start becoming interested in spending Friday nights at the mall or the movies, take that as a sign you’re free to do the same!
  • #4
Rub a Dub Dub: Wake up extra early in the morning (before the kids wake up) and take a shower together. You’ll get to spend some steamy private time with your partner and still be on schedule to get your kids up, dressed, fed and off to school.
  • #5
Pass Notes in Class: Or rather, romantic texts during the day. Send your partner a sweet little love note or a frisky invitation for some late evening action. Staying connected will help to ward off the stress of busy days.
